Ranger Build: Dazing Trapper

Dazing Trapper

This is a fairly active build that is geared towared preplanned attacks with some control and group support.  It uses the Black Moa, if you do not have access to this pet, as it requires 15 Hall of Monument points from Guild Wars 1, use a Raven instead (you receive one less daze in exchange for a blind).

Setup:

  • Stand back (the further you stand back, the more damage your longbow auto-attack will do) and lay your traps as close to your targets as you can without pulling.

Pull:

  • Use your 5th longbow skill to pull.

Rotation:

  1. If fighting against a single target switch to longbow and alternate between skills 0, 9, 8, 7, 3, 2, and 1 (in that priority order).
  2. If fighting against multiple targets switch to axe/torch and alternate between skills 0, 9, 8, 7, 5, 2 and 1 (in that priority order).

Situational:

  1. If your pet dies, press F4 to switch him out (if your alternate pet is not dead).
  2. If you see a target about to perform a large attack press F2 and then F4 (if your alternate pet is not dead).
  3. If a target gets up in your face:
    1. If you are using a longbow, use skill 4 (don't use it otherwise).
    2. If you are using axe/torch, use skill 3 and dodge twice in a safe direction.
  4. If you get below half health use your heal skill, please be near other ranged teammates so that they can receive the heal too.
